How to Train A Cat

How to Train A Cat

The characteristics of the cat makes his training operation is not simple, but fun for both you and for him. It is worth to try. The cat, like any good opportunist he is, may prove willing to learn or do something in exchange for a reward that is really worth the effort. Then you will get tasty treats (even better if it's his favorite food) and products that produce an audible sound and well tolerated by him.

DIFFICULTIES 1

1. If your cat has a few months you can start this adventure by asking goals high enough. However, it will take time and patience.

This is a basic training that will help you to work on other more complex exercises of agility. It is based on the principle target dl: that the cat is focused onto a target / object.

To do this you build yourself the target for your cat putting a ball of cloth or other material at the top of a stick about 50 cm in length.

2.Ricorda that when you begin a training session the cat should always be on an empty stomach, risks that you do not pay due attention or even that one has gone about his business. Put her favorite food in a small bowl (you will need to convince him to do what they require) and take the clicker in one hand (even a pen is fine)

Now call your cat.

Before starting the training you need to repeat this sequence a few times: emits the sound of the clicker with drawing attention to your cat and soon after, quickly, offer him a treat.

3. Now starts the real training: move the rod and causes the cat to touch it with his paw or his nose. Whenever he does run the sequence that I mentioned above, sound and treat.

Remember that your goal at this stage of basic training, is to encourage the cat to approach with greater confidence to the stick.

You can change operation, but not during the same workout!

4.The 'Another exercise that you can make them do at this level is learning to sit up. It 's a difficult exercise for a cat, but you can insisting succeed. The procedure is the same: every time you repeat the sequence sits down clicker-food. You can eventually cause him to take a sitting position by bringing the rod or a treat above his head.

5. As soon as you think your cat has taken up this phase of learning, replace the wand a command of the hand. Ask the cat to repeat the exercises a few times distributed in more than one session per day ... or stuferà and stop colllaborare!

When he acquired the right skills you can go to the fun of agility exercises.
